Our Chairman, Martin Johnson

Our Chairman, Martin JohnsonMartin began his musical education at Kings College School, Cambridge withsinging, piano and viola. He was awarded a music scholarship to Shrewsbury school and became a member of the National Youth Orchestra for 3 years. He returned to mainstream singing at Durham University where he was awarded a choral scholarship whilst reading English.

After graduation he moved to London where he took up a singing post at Handel’s church, St. George’s Hanover Square, where he performed for many years as a chorus member and soloist in the London Handel Festival.

Martin now works as a Marketing Consultant but performs both as a chorus member and soloist with several choirs in and around London.  He is also an ad hoc member of the BBC Singers with whom he has made several recordings and radio broadcasts.
